Flash storage is revolutionizing the enterprise data center in a transition with few parallels. As disks are being replaced by solid-state storage, there is a bewildering variety of interfaces and architectures proposed as the "right" way to use flash. In this talk, Roland Dreier will review the properties of flash and the various ways flash is appearing in enterprise storage, and explain the ways Linux is evolving to keep up with flash. Flash as mainstream enterprise storage is closer than many realize, and this talk will give concrete guidance on what is possible now.
